Thriving
"These shrubs come small, just like they say. However, they will take off once they settle in. I received mine in the fall and got them in the ground. I didn't have time to clear the grass and weeds much from the area like I wanted to, and was so nervous I might accidentally mow them. So yes, they are small on arrival. But this spring they have taken off and are absolutely thriving! Personally, I am sold on the concept of smaller plants establishing quicker. No, they don't look like much at first, but a little patience will pay off and they will take hold and catch up in no time! They are quick and easy to plant, and much more budget friendly. The flowers on the chokeberry are precious. The sweetspire is blooming despite being fairly small. What was barely noticable in late winter is now 8-12" high (except for the chokeberry- but to be expected for a dwarf version) in late May. I can't wait to see them continue to grow!"
