Description

24-36” tall x 18-24” wide. ‘Sapphire’ Blue Oat Grass is a standout cool-season ornamental grass. Plants perform best in full sun, but tolerate light shade. Bluest color develops in dry soils. Plants are adaptable to a variety of soil types as long as they are well drained. Plant as a specimen in rock gardens or as an accent in mixed beds and borders to add color and texture. Large masses can be used as a tall groundcover. ‘Sapphire’ Blue Oat Grass is deer resistant and salt tolerant. A good choice for waterwise, firewise, and coastal landscapes. Plants are sensitive to heat and humidity, though ‘Sapphire’ performs better than the most varieties. An easy care selection, blue oat grass can be cut back hard in spring as needed. Combines well with other grasses.
