Description
(30-42” tall x 24” wide) Pink and yellow come together to create something special for the summer and fall garden in ‘Star Elite’ Cactus Dahlia. ‘Star Elite’ is a cactus form of dahlia, characterized by strong, uniform petals narrowed from base to tip – and the bushy, green foliage provides a perfect backdrop for the display. Use ‘Star Elite’ Cactus Dahlia in the sunny summer garden to perk up tired flower beds and keep excitement in your landscape right up until the cool autumn days draw in. Dahlia tubers should be planted in well-drained, average to rich soils in a sunny spot. Though they can tolerate some shade, flowering is reduced and flowers may need additional staking. Keep plants deadheaded to promote abundant flowering, or pinch the plants back early in the growing season to promote larger (but fewer) flowers. Dahlias make excellent cut flowers and are often visited by butterflies late in the season.
