"I was pleasantly surprised by the star of Persia when I saw it bloom. If most standard purple alliums just look like purple balls on stems, these have a somewhat shorter stem, and the individual florets as they open out are star shaped and much more silvery purple, lovely. The Mediterranean bells were also unexpectedly delightful. But the schubertii that I was most excited about unfortunately did not flower. I will blame the weather this winter and hope they survive till next year and hope I get to see them."
