How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
'Pretty Woman' adds dramatic color to the late summer and fall garden, with pink flowers on compact, dark foliage.
Dahlias are perennial in zones 8-10, but in cooler zones, tubers can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring. Grow Dahlias in a sunny spot, in average soil that drains well. Keep moisture consistent once it begins to grow and enjoy a non-stop color parade. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers and pinch off small side buds to encourage larger flowers if desired.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"Ordered 2 in Feb 2023. Both behaved the same. Grew quickly, budded-up abundantly, but the blooms are frightful, petals, if any woild develop were warped. It seems like omething bad happens during the blooming process. I've blamed myself and treated them for pests, treated for fungus, moved their containers to a variety of sun exposures, thought it was overwatering or underwatering, so I adjusted that without improvement. Came back to check the reviews and see this common complaint and now, at least I know I can stop obsessing & exhausting myself trying to fix something beyond my control. I'll give 1 star for the foliage, and another bc who knows. . . maybe next year they'll do better? I'll have to go over all my orders from all suppliers and evaluate the successes/failures to see if I can notice any patterns that could clue me in to the problem. Maybe it's just the nature of this dahlia?"
"The "3" tubers came as just a clump so I had to figure out how to divide them - which is not easy. Only got 2 plants to grow and not very well. Hopefully I'll get better tubers myself to plant next year. Will not buy from this company again."
"These flowers are gorgeous. . . mostly! Some of them turn out beautifully, while others have stunted petals that turn brown almost immediately, or a complete lack of petals. I planted most tubers in new, high quality potting soil, and one in our not very good clay-heavy soil and they are behaving the same way in both environments. Besides that, they are very productive flower-wise and have been blooming for a long time! They also last nicely as a shorter-length cut flower and add excellent color to my border."
"This plant makes a great medium height border. I use it in front of rose bushes with shorter plants in front of these. Very striking color with dark leaves and contrasting flowers. Very healthy and easy to care for."
"Every single Pretty Woman dahlia came up and stunning! They are in full bloom and the bees love the flowers! I will be ordering more next year."
"I planted these in my butterfly garden and was pleased with how they grew."
"Very easy to grow and still blooming! Only complaint is that the color is much lighter than the picture; they are more of a pale pink."
"Planted by walkway leading to front entrance. It does not require staking as most diahlias do. Product looks exactly as described. This diahlia started blooming earlier than my others and has been nonstop. Very pleased with product."
"Pretty flowers against dark leaves. Very cheerful. Great planted in containers and the garden. Start indoors in zone 4 for earlier blooms. Maintain consistant deheading for best blooms."
