How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
'French' anemones can be planted fall or spring, and grow from small irregularly-shaped bulbs that look sort of like weathered wood chips. Put them into semi-shady spots, and they'll be up in no time. They quickly form short little plants, and then these spectacular 3 to 4-inch flowers on stems of about 10'.
If you've never grown them, give them a try. Your success will depend on where you plant. Be sure it's never too hot, and never too dry. They need good drainage, but insist on a moist, somewhat shaded spot.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"This flower is so pretty in the garden."
"This has been the surprise hit of the spring! We ordered these for fall planting and put it in the difficult bed--the one under a birch tree that gets a fair amount of shade. These little bulbs pack a lot of beautiful punch. The foliage is just as pretty as the flower, and I can't believe how long the blooms last. They close up in the evenings and reopen in the mornings."
"I planted in groups of 10. I planted 100 of them. I would say at least 90 sprouted in a somewhat shady area. The leaves came up quickly. Faster than I thought they would. They lasted a while then the deer found them. I don't know how long it would of taken for them to flower but I bet they would of been just perfect if they had a chance."
"They make you smile just to look at them. They wave gently in the smallest breeze. The leaf is almost as pretty as the flower. The colors are intense. I plant them between other plants, such as lilies. I think this variety of anemone is the prettiest of all."
"Didn't have the best luck with these at first, but after being persistent I finally got some beautiful blooms this spring. Everyone loves these, the colors are so rich, and they really last. Highly recommended!"
"I always appreciate more info w/ the product. I like the planting instructions on the tag and the Spring bulbs planting insert w/ the package. Free seeds are nice too. Thank you."
