Description
Growing Darwin Hybrid Tulips: Tall and graceful, Darwin Hybrid Tulips produce extra-large flowers in rich, saturated colors. They create a bold and colorful display in mid-spring and are favorites for cut flower arrangements. Darwin Hybrid Tulips are a cross between perennializing early-blooming Emperor Tulips and showy Single Late Tulips. The result is durable, long-blooming flowers with tall sturdy stems, which tolerate fluctuating spring cold and heat. They bloom best in their first season. To encourage their return, plant bulbs in fall in full sun with well-drained soil, where they can stay dry when dormant. After flowering is done, allow foliage to die back naturally to feed the bulbs for next season’s blooms.
