Description
6" tall x 3-4' wide. Common Grape Hyacinth adds unusual dark blue florets that lighten to a lilac-blue crown. These small plants pack a big punch in the mid-spring garden and are important pollinator favorites. At 6" tall they are a perfect choice around entries, at the edges of planting beds, in rock gardens or sprinkled among other spring bulbs. Easy to plant and not fussy, just plant them in well-drained soil, in sun or part shade. Plant 3" deep and 2-3" apart. Plant in groups of at least 25 bulbs for the best effect. Water well and as needed during flowering. Muscari has a musky, grape-like scent that repels predators and attracts bees. With abundant nectar, these little flowers are an important source of spring nectar for our pollinators. Great for spring containers too.
