'Edge of Joy' Dahlia has striking camellia-like blooms touched with elegant swirls of white and magenta-purple, all surrounding pure golden centers. The 3" diameter flowers are delivered in spades and sit atop lush green foliage that keeps its shape until frosts arrive. Easy to care for. (Dahlia)

Sent wrong tubers.

"I was so excited for these but after blooming they looked nothing like Edge of Joy. Lovely flowers and foliage but sticks out like a sore thumb in my flower color scheme."

My FAVORITE Dahlia we sell

"I have bought these Dahlias from us multiple times as I have relocated where I was living over the past several years. I had been doing them in containers when I was renting (they look lovely with some Canna Lilies in a container) and bought them again this year after I finally bought my home. Planted them a little late in the spring season so had to baby them through some frosts, but dug them up and stored them to plant them again next year. Looking forward to seeing how much the plants grow come next spring."

So many blooms!

"I needed a Dahlia that would expose the pollen button before the petals fade for my pollinator garden. This one's a winner. They're gorgeous and so many flowers. They sprouted about a week after planting and they don't even need staking. So far they're 2' diameter, I should have given them more room."

Stunning flowers and good for pollinators

"I built a pollinator garden in the spring of 2020 and put in mostly natives, but I wanted some dahlias too. I did some research and learned that only the dahlias with the open middle part of the flower are good for pollinators; otherwise the bees have a hard time finding what they need (the really big dahlias are apparently not as good bc their petals cover the middle of flower). The Edge of Joy dahlia fit the bill. I bought 2 plants and the blooms were stunning- see attached. Nice and bushy plant in first year. I did not pull the bulbs up over winter here in Zone 7a, but it was a mild winter, so I am waiting to see if they pop up again this year (currently in mid april). If they do, I'll be thrilled."

A success so far

"I live in Houston, TX (Zone 9) and started growing the Edge of Joy at the end of March. I used a mixture of potting mix and garden soil plus bulb food and mycorrhizal in a large container. I have to agree that the quality of the bulbs/ tubers is a bit variable. Two of them were larger than the other. There were also quite a few broken bulbs/ tubers in the bag as well. Nonetheless, the two strong-looking ones turned out well. The first two flowers (see pics) came out this week and they are smaller than 3-inches but they are pretty. I hope subsequent flowers will grow larger in size."

"Beautiful flower; bloomed this year; just dug up for storage. Thank you"

Showy single flower, better for pollinators

"Alright, enough of the one star reviews for this one. People either rave or rant, but hey it's the internet, what can you do? I love these babies. They are smaller border type so their tubers are a little smaller too. Mine bloomed the first season, and in general most dahlias do. But the real fun comes the second and their seasons when you replant them. They get stronger and bigger every year. The most important part about these dahlias is that they are SINGLE! flowers which means they actually feed pollinators compared to 80% of the other dahlias. I'm buying some more!"
