Description
12-16" tall x 12-16" wide. An easy-to-grow, tropical corm, the soft white flowers of 'Double White' Freesia not only smell divine, they also make exceptional cut flowers. Though it's only hardy in the extreme south, northern gardeners who plant this corm in the spring will be treated with weeks of arching flower clusters. Corms can be dug out of the ground prior to fall's first frost and stored in a garage or basement in a box of peat moss for the winter. When planting in the garden, position Freesias in a sunny site with well-drained soil at a depth of 3 inches. Groups of 8 to 10 bulbs make the biggest impact. With aromatic flowers that dance in the wind, freesia is an old-fashioned charmer that's earned its place in modern gardens.
