Ombre-hued 'Jowey Winnie' Ball Dahlias capture a summer sunset with their colors. Petals are sun-drenched pink tending toward violet at the edges, with peach centers that give the impression that they're lit from within. with a faint violet tint and aa glowing peach-pink interior. Ultra-versatile and easy to grow, they thrive in the garden, in planters, and in cut flower bouquets. They're deer-resistant and attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

With rolled petals perfectly packed to form a tight, 4" sphere, 'Jowey Winnie' Ball Dahlia boasts intriguing hues. Ball Dahlias are appreciated for their weather-resistance, with durable blooms atop tall, stiff stems. Their extended vase life also makes them ideal for bouquets, and this variety is especially versatile — its palette of warm and cool tones combines beautifully with other flowers. Grow some in containers on a sunny patio, deck, or balcony for up-close enjoyment.

Dahlias are perennial in zones 8-10, but in cooler zones, tubers can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring. Grow Dahlias in a sunny spot, in average soil that drains well. Keep moisture consistent once it begins to grow and enjoy a non-stop color parade. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers and pinch off small side buds to encourage larger flowers if desired.

Twice disappointed!

"Two years ago, I ordered Jowie Winney ball Dahlias. The tubers came and I planted them right away. Of the 3 tubers, one never sprouted, and of the two that did, only one bloomed and disappointingly it was not what ordered. Not "ombré" hued as they described, but deep red. I reached out and they sent me new ones this year. I planted them and again one never sprouted and one as of now August 31 has not even budded. The third had one bloom recently, and it isn't even close to a Jowie Winnie ball dahlia. It is a large, pale pink non-ball Dahlia. Twice disappointed! I reached out again and they said they cannot replace them again. That's it. I will get my preferred Dahlia elsewhere!"

"I was expecting this beautiful pink ball dahlia. Of the three tubers I planted, only two came up. What grew were really sweet little balls, but they were more of a burgundy color, not bright pink."
