(36-44" tall) ‘Plum Tart’ Gladiolus add vertical interest to the garden with stately stems. Perfect for cottage gardens or tucked among your favorite perennials in a mixed border, ‘Plum Tart’ brings dramatic color and plenty of personality. The blooms are tightly packed along stems, with ten or more individual flowers open at any one time. Flowers open starting from the bottom of the flower stalk and working toward the tips. Plant gladiolus in full sun in any well-drained soil. Water regularly, but avoid soggy soils. You can also grow gladiolus in containers, but will need a heavy pot to keep these tall plants upright. Gladiolus are hardy in zones 8-10 and must be dug for winter storage in zones 3-7. Dry the bulb-like corms and store in a cool, dry location. Replant bulbs in the garden in spring after the threat of frost has passed.

"The flowers I got are not Plum by any stretch of the imagination. I DID get some plum but most of them are a variation of pink. the one below was also kind of oddly shaped."
"I ordered these 'Plum Tart' glads after seeing them in someone else's garden and eagerly looked forward to the first blooms. Unfortunately, they look nothing like the color shown and described here- they're the red/orange that you see in classic glad mixes. I contacted customer service, sent a photo, and was told that what I have are in fact 'Plum Tart', despite the total absence of plum, purple, or even a pinkish hue. If 'Plum Tart' is indeed red/orange, the listing photos need to be updated to reflect that."
