Description

(40" tall x 12" wide) Autumn Riesling Bearded Iris lights up the mid to late spring garden in warm and lively shades of pure orange. Deep tangerine beards set the flowers aglow, and they are lovely planted with Allium, Tulips, Delphinium, and Salvia. One of our most dependable, easy-to-grow, and showy perennials, 'Autumn Riesling' is perfect for the back of the border or mixed with other perennials. The green blade-like fans of foliage add a unique texture and structure to the garden as well. Plant in a sunny spot that has freely draining soil and plant the rhizome with the tops slightly exposed above the soil line. Water as needed to keep the soil moist as the plant gets established. For a mass of color plant at least 3 rhizomes in a group, 12-24" apart. As blooms fade, simply snap them off for a clean look. Once established, these hardy plants are deer and rabbit-resistant additions to a pollinator-friendly, drought-tolerant garden.
