Deep and fiery orange, the extra-large, 7-8" blooms of 'Tuscawilla Tigress' are emblazened by rust-orange center markings and golden midribs. Beyond its vibrant color, this one is noted for its extreme vigor and hardiness, adapting to almost anything Mother Nature throws its way, including moisture, drought, poor soils and pests. Reblooms in fall. (Hermerocallis)

A Tiger in Your Garden

"I purchased this daylily 10+ years ago and I can attest to the facts that this is an amazing plant. This was one of my first daylily purchase and still one of my favorites. They are extremely hardy - they thrive despite our zone 5b -15 temps and fierce winds in winter and explode with multiple new fans each spring. The beauty of daylilies is you can divide them every few years. T tigress is so prolific they need division practically every year. Last year I divided 2 clumps resulting in over 30 new plants of 2-3 fans each. T tigress is a 'plant and forget' daylily but fertilization makes this plant shine and expand. The only drawback of daylilies in general is deer LOVE them. In spring they'll eat the new leaves (but they recover nicely) and in summer they will eat the flowers (!). Deer repellent is a must if you have a big deer population. But it's a small price to pay for these lovely plants."
