Overview
Jade Rose Hens and Chicks delights with a tapestry of color wound into spiraled rosettes. Succulent foliage is a rich burgundy at the center of each rosette, surrounded by jade green toward the edges. Leaves are fuzzy at the tips for added interest. Rosettes overlap into gently undulating mounds that make a textural groundcover or container planting. (Sempervivum tectorum)

Description
4-6” tall x 6-12" wide and spreading. Jade Rose Hens and Chicks (Sempervivum) adds a touch of whimsy to the garden with the large rosettes and rich jewel-tones. Mature rosettes reach up to five inches across, with new offsets emerging each spring to form a dense colony. Perfect for rock gardens, living walls, and green roofs, Jade Rose Hens and Chicks is easy to grow in any well-drained soil. Provide good drainage as these plants do not like their feet (roots) wet. Plants combine well with other succulents and xeriscape plants in mixed containers and look striking planted en masse along flagstone walkways or as a groundcover. Once mature, rosettes produce a pastel bloom adored by butterflies. Main rosettes die after flowering to make room for the younger offsets to mature. Through this cycle, hens and chicks live for many years to come. Plants are deer resistant and drought tolerant.
