A favorite annual in meadows from Maine to California, Blue Cornflower adds true blue blooms to the summer garden or meadow. Also known as Bachelor Button, silver foliage offsets its blue blooms tremendously and attracts birds (especially American goldfinches) with its seed. Blue Cornflower is extremely easy to grow and is gorgeous planted on its own or paired with other colors of Cornflower. All of the seed we handle at American Meadows is non-GMO, neonicotinoid-free and guaranteed to grow. Annual.

Received the Bachelor Button Seeds

"Received the Bachelor Button Seeds and sowed them into lightly cultivated beds. They germinated about fourteen days later and are well on the way to becoming a beautiful floral presence here in my Virginia garden!"

Never bloomed

"Planted these last year and they never bloomed. Really want to try them again this year but…."

Tonya P. (1/5)

Wow! These seeds are amazing!!

"I bought these seeds to fill an area that was previously English ivy. The seeds have exceeded all our expectations! We use them in cut-flower bouquets. They are beautiful on their own. But—they DO require trimming!"

Wendy (5/5)

Never bloomed

"These seeds had an almost 100% germination rate. They sprouted quickly, but never progressed to produce any buds or flowers. Just green."

Katready3 (2/5)

NO flowers bloomed

"I've used your wildflower seeds for years. Prepared ground. When after the expected period nothing bloomed, I began all over again. Still nothing. Very disappointed"

Elivia (1/5)

"Using as a garden bed border and for cut flowers."

Shel (5/5)

"I absolutely love my cosmos and blue cornflower. I plan on buying these seed Adrian, and also other varieties, since they've done so well."

Ann (5/5)

Beautiful

"I moved into a newly constructed home last year. The backyard was a total mess. Since I was starting from scratch, I opted to turn it into a wildflower garden. This is my first year with wildflowers growing. I'm very pleased with the bachelor buttons. I discovered that Goldfinches love to eat the seeds!"

Held its own against bad soil and drought

"I wanted a 10'x20' wildflower patch to help rebuild bad soil and smother weeds. I planted this Blue Cornflower along with Crimson Clover and Calendula during the worst drought my area has seen in decades. Wouldn't you know--only the Cornflower showed up to the party and bloomed for a good month (zone 7a in July). I think the soil and weather was too dry/poor for the cornflower to adequately reseed itself. Counting my blessings--the cornflower beat the fierce mugwort competition. I'll plant again next season with better soil and way more (water) love."
