"Still very pleased with this type of grass. A year later and all bunches are quite large and healthy. Doing very well through a Chicago drought. In my small yard, more bunches are springing up unexpectedly, in the main grass that is dormant, the gramma is up and already seeding. This is great. An adventure in letting native grass take over my lawn."
"Planted these in pots and spots in my yard in late spring/early summer. Almost all seeds sprouted soon and within 3 months many are 16" tall and are actually going to seed. After keeping them watered the first month they are surviving on their own. Giving away many to friends. Too many seeds for me in the 4oz bag. A thin, hair-like grass that won't be cut easily with a string grass trimmer. Makes a nice bunch grass."
"We gave the blue grama seeds to our landscaper to apply with hydroseed for a native meadow. Sowed in September in zone 4. Within a week the grass had germinated with excellent coverage and by October looked healthy and lush."
"Unfortunately, since receiving the seeds it has been raining almost constantly and I have not been able to put the seeds out where I needed them. If the literature is correct, I'm sure I will be pleased after the planting."
"It was used for erosion control."
"Once established this is a reliable perennial grass. It grows from 12 to about 18 inches high. The seedheads look like eyebrows."
"Planted seeds 3 days ago and have already achieved green "fuzz". Planted in red clay with a thin layer of purchased topsoil and a sprinkle of Planters II. Our temps have consistently been above 90 degrees with full sun and blustery winds. Watered twice a day."
"We have native gramma grass, but I like to reseed to keep our pastues healthy. And our horses do great on gramma grass."
"Love this grass. It is green in the summer with very little water. It is a pretty tan in fall. It has super seed stalks, very pretty. This variety doesn't get very tall, less than a foot and a half. It is also a little hard to get started,it needs a decent amount of constant moisture to get going. . ."
