This species, not a true forget-me-not, has very similar flowers to the real thing (See perennial, Myosotis sylvatica.) Since this one is so much less expensive than the pricey Myosotis, it is often substituted in the seed trade.

Word of Caution if you have dogs
"I have bought annual wildflower mixes several times from American Meadows, and have had great success with them. My only issue is the Chinese Forget Me Nots in the mixes. They form burrs when going to seed, and I spent multiple sessions picking them out of my dog's fur after she walked through the wildflower area. As a result I have given up on buying their annual multi-flower mixes because they all contain this flower, and have been buying separate annual varieties to mix on my own. There should be a warning on the page for this flower for dog owners."
