How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Winter Buttercup or also known as Eranthis cilicica is best to be planted in the fall. These bulbs prefer moist soil, full sun to partial shade and places to naturalize. Great for woodland areas, In borders, rock gardens and under trees and shrubs. Once they have bloomed, let the foliage die back to allow the bulb to regenerate for the next season growth. If the Winter Buttercups are becoming overgrown or you would like to move them, the best time to dig up is late spring, just as the foliage dies back.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. "Wonderful addition to spring bulbs, planting more this fall!"
"I had never heard of these before, but took a chance on buying them last year. I just went out to look at all the dead flower gardens that need to be cleaned up for the Spring and . . . . what is this??? A small clump of happy yellow heads all bloomed and the snow has barely melted. It's the only touch of color out there(early April in VT). For sure will want to order more!"
"Aunt had them, so refreshing to see in snow"
"I planted these in pretty bad soil last fall, and most of them have come up already -- cheerfully blooming at the end of February in a mountain/woodland garden in West Virginia. I look forward to these spreading and will be buying more."
