Plant this low-growing, emerald-green grass in a lower maintenance area or turf lawn. It requires little care and is easy to grow, tolerating shade. Hard Fescue is ideal for creating a naturalized area that your mower can’t reach. (Festuca ovina)

Reviews

Give it time, up to 1 month, it will sprout

"I have a very shady yard, many bare spots, tough to get grass to grow, tried American Meadows seed cause I used their ground cover on my garden and it grew well, so far the grass seed is sprouting at 10 per cent in the heavy shady areas"

Worth the wait!

"It took a bit to come up with the late Wisconsin Spring, but now it's looking like it's coming up full & thick. Hopeful it likes the woodsy shaded yard!"

Jill (5/5)

Intrepid and shade tolerant

"At 1,350ft elevation at 43 deg 20 mins North. . . . hardy fescue"

Ollie (5/5)

Did not have good results

"We typically do not review items or want to give bad reviews-We did try to grow this product mixed with our flower seeds in our fields because we read it would help keep unwanted weeds at bay. We have not noticed this grass growing but do see the unwanted weeds. On the positive side we are starting to see the pretty wild flowers bloom!"
