How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
24-36" tall x 24-30" wide. ‘Soulmate’ blooms a deeper rose color than other swamp milkweeds and is a prolific bloomer. Plants tolerate a wide range of growing conditions including wet soils and clay. Despite growing naturally in swamps and wet meadows, ‘Soulmate’ also performs well in average garden soils. An excellent selection for rain gardens and butterfly habitats as well as perennial beds. ‘Soulmate’ charms with slender, willow-like foliage, a strong upright structure, and attractive seed pods. Harvest seed pods before they break open for use in dried flower arrangements. When left in the garden, pods break open to release silky white seeds that float on the breeze. Plants may reseed in the garden. With a broad native range, swamp milkweed makes an ideal monarch host plant throughout much of the continental United States and eastern Canada.

"The plant died right after i planted it. It didnt look well when i got it"
"Most of what I've bought from you has not grown. I've tried twice."
"This was the 1st milkweed to pop back up this year. Looks great."
"I wanted to feed the Monarch butterflies. The plants I received were small and one died shortly after I played it. Don't know if the other one will make it. Luckily I found very large milkweed plants at the garden center for the same price and bought several."
"Love pollinator plants"
"I bought two of these soulmate swamp milkweed plants along with several of the common milkweed plants from American Meadows this year and have bought several others over the years and have never had one die on me. They grow like crazy and I just love the looks of them in my flower areas and also knowing they are helping our wonderful pollinators and of course the beautiful monarch butterflies. I adore these plants!"
"Plants arrived very healthy and took off very well. A nice tall growing milkweed. Gets very top heavy but fine with some staking and/or with other companion plants around it for support. Of course I'm excited for Monarchs, but all kinds of pollinators love this milkweed as well."
"Healthy plants that produced flowers & attracts butterflies"
"As a collection this we a disappointment. There were only 2 colors, the common pink which everyone has and one in gold shade."
"This in the top ten plants I have ever purchased. I have so many Monarchs, Painted Ladies, Red Admirals and many other butterflies I do not know the names of this year. There are about 4 monarch cats on the milkweed and 1 catapiller going into chrysalis. It's also such a beautiful shade of pink. The only issue is that milkweed attracts aphids but doing research found out it's good to have aphids because it means there are no pesticides on the plant. I've just been squishing and knocking the aphids off. Cannot use pesticides because they will kill the pollinators. I would recommend this plant for anyone who wants to attract polinators . American Meadows is a great company and I know they are truthful about not using neonicotinoids."
