How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Palace Purple is one of the Coral Bells that started the current craze. Hybridized from a naturally purple-leaved native species, bloom is pink and quite dramatic against the dark leaves.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. "This was part of an order which included some sick plants. I was reimbursed for the ones that died, including this one, which is why I gave it 2 stars. I appreciate the good customer service."
"Armadillo somehow managed to miss uprooting it. Did very well quickly establishing itself in early spring but intense heat of late spring requires just keeping it alive. Looking forward to fall."
"I was so drawn to the beauty of this plant; bought two along with Heuchera Citronelle. I planted the purple palace and citronelle on my slope in back and planted the other purple palace in a container in front. Deer ate both plants in back. Then I added a deer repellant station in front to my container; and, this morning found they ate 1/2 of that plant. I am sooooo disappointed. Loved those two plants. I would definitely recommend if you do not have deer roaming about."
"I am chair of a garden club in a senior-citizen building in Silver Spring, Maryland. I gave this coral bells to a gardening neighbor because I have two of my own. They are on a fifteenth-floor outside rooftop, where they are in containers and placed in semi-shade behind a park bench. These plants are very hardy, tough, with attractive foliage. I just wish that they were evergreen. My friend's coral bells is happy in a pot on her balcony, and thriving."
"I bought 12 of these heuchera 6 weeks ago. . . they have more than doubled in size, are blooming, and the leaf color is amazing! They're a wonderful contrast to all the green foliage in my garden. A wonderful plant! (I attribute the vigor of these to the fantastic packaging by American Meadows. )"
"Only down side is in my area, when the deer run out of their staples they go to this plant first. Every year it comes back but does not get any bigger"
