Fast growing 'Major Wheeler' Honeysuckle's blooms are true red and plentiful, appearing with enthusiasm throughout the summer season. This variety is resistant to powdery mildew and can even hold its own in humid environments, where it still presents fresh-looking foliage to accompany its clusters of tubular flowers. Vining and growing to 8-10' tall, 'Major Wheeler' is a non-aggressive, non-invasive honeysuckle that needs the support of a trellis, cage or fence to wind and wrap itself around. Right at home in containers and tolerant of partial shade, plant this one to attract hummingbirds. (Lonicera sempervirens)

Amazing growth and flower production

"It is hard to believe this vine is only a year old. I built a trellis using 8' treated 4x4's and it has filled it out well. There were no flowers the first year, but the growth was amazing. This year there are blooms everywhere. I'm growing it in a 30 gallon container. The hummingbirds love it, highly recommended."

I will order this product again in the spring.

"Of the 4 Nurseries that I ordered from American Meadows had the best (looking at the time of delivery and the best growing once they were planted)."

Growing like crazy

"I wanted honeysuckles to fill my backyard fence. I was skeptical about ordering live plants online, but every purchase I have made has been great, and cheaper too."

Fantastic!

"This is it's second year and only May and I am thrilled with the growth. Lots of blossoms and this year I am working on training it so, between the 4 I planted, it begins to completely hide the fence and retention basin I am trying to obscure. I am trying to attract hummingbirds as well. I haven't seen any yet, but hopefully this is the year!"

It arrived in fine shape!

"I'm sure she will do well in the full sign climbing my trellis under my deck! Thank you!"

Not flourishing

"I'm not sure this vine is going to make it. I have others growing nearby that are doing great."

My Major Wheeler with clematis

"Starting to spread out, only 2 year. Will by more, unfortunately sold out this year."

I plan on buying more Wheeler honeysuckle soon

"I love to watch the hummingbirds feed from the nectar"

Happy plant

"Just received my baby plant and wanted to share how impressed I was with the shipping. It was totally protected and secured within the box and arrived in perfect condition. I have purchased bulbs before, but this was my first live plant. It will be planted in a very large container on my patio, and I look forward to watching it grow and bloom. I will definitely purchase more live plants in the future."

So far, so good

"This NATIVE honesuckle vine is doing wonderfully. It has been incredibly hot and dry in my area so I've been careful to water it as it becomes established. A leading vine has already twined up about 4 feet from when I placed it in the ground in spring. Based on how healthy it appears, I'm confident it will be back after winter."
