How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Intersection, or “Itoh” Peonies are very easy to grow in full to part sun in well-drained soil. Make sure the crowns are planted 1 to 2 inches deep and no deeper. If peonies are planted too deep, they may not bloom.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"I just had someone ask me for the name of this Beautiful Vibrant Yellow Large Plate Size Blooms . Their words where. "They almost look FAKE". . . . It bloomed the first year just one. . . I just planted it and left it alone enjoyed each new year with bigger and more blooms. . . The only thing I do is let it die out to the ground and then clean it up. . . . You cant go wrong with this plant . . Enjoy. . . ."
"Just got this peony and it looks healthy and vibrant. Certainly not dead like the previous person who commented. I soaked it in wet soil over night and am getting ready to plant it in a nice sunny location where it will have room to get nice and large and enjoy sun and partial shade. I have many peonies and a tree peony (that has never done a thing in many years) and I'm sure this one will thrive. Don't let one bad review turn you away from doing business with American Meadows. They will replace any plant that doesn't live. They are a wonderful business and stand by their products. I buy their seeds and they are top of the line."
