This easy-to-grow variety of Joe Pye Weed boasts mounds of dark, bronze-purple leaves and deep stems. Fragrant, pure-white flowers attract butterflies to the late summer garden and this compact variety grows to be 36-48" tall. (Eupatorium rugosum)
Rising to as tall as 3 or even 4 ft., Joe Pye Weed blooms with big hydrangea-like lavender blooms on the top of every stem in late summer and fall.
You see Joe Pye Weed over most of the east in roadside ditches, since it seeks sunny wet spots. It usually blooms with the goldenrods. There are now several hybrids offered for perennial gardens, but most wild gardeners think the wild version is best.

As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"AKA Ageratina altissima, also known as white snakeroot, richweed, or white sanicle, is a poisonous perennial herb in the family Asteraceae, native to eastern and central North America. Do Not plant where grazing animals (or children) can reach! This is the plant that killed Abraham Lincoln's mother."

Small healthy plant
"It's a small plant, so I planted in a pot until it's established before transferring to my garden. A month later, it stays healthy and got a little bit bigger. I hope to see the flowers next year. I used it as a companion plant to foxglove and delphinium"
— Love-gardening (5/5)
I would have bought more than 3, if I only knew.
"Plants were healthy and they were shipped with no damage. Thank you !"

Beautiful Native Perennial
"Purchased 3 of these for a partly shady garden. When they arrived one of the plants was completely broken in the box. However with just one phone call to the company a new one was shipped out immediately and the customer service couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. This is the first season for these plants in my garden and they are thriving so now I am hoping they survive the winter and return with an even better experience!"
