Long-blooming and highly fragrant, 'Grosso' Lavender is famed throughout the world as the one most often grown for use in perfume making. It's also very showy, with large and spiky dark purple blooms set against silver foliage. Blooms form on purple bracts (as opposed to the more common green) making for a richly colorful appearance in the garden and when dried for crafts. (Lavandula x intermedia)

they all died

"they all died"

I ordered 20 plants, but 3 didn't make it.

"I ordered 20 plants on July 12, 2024, that came right on time a few days ago. All were robust, save three that didn't make it. Sadly, American Meadows is now out of stock. The plants that made it are happy and amazing, but I am frustrated that I have 3 spaces with no plants. Hopefully they will have more before it's too cold to plant replacements."

High quality plants

"I have planted a 70 foot long hedge of this lavender. The plants arrived in good condition, established quickly and are growing well."

The 3rd Year have bought Grosso Lavender!

"The plants are healthy and packed to arrive in great shape. They have flourished."

Wonderfully Fragrant!

"This was planted in a VERY tough spot in a very narrow strip between a brick wall and sidewalk in soil that resembles concrete most of the year. Two other lavender varieties had failed in the first season in this location, but Grosso thrived! The winter was the true test - and I'm happy to report all 5 survived! In year two, they are growing like crazy (much more vigorous that in year one), and the scent is absolutely incredible. It's early June here in Utah and all 5 are already in bloom!"

Don't jnow why it died

"I've raised lavender before so I don't know why this little plant struggled and died within a couple of months."

Great plants

"I ordered several plants. UPS actually LOST my package for a while (100% UPS's fault and not American Meadows), and I was really worried the plants would arrive dead, but despite a significant delay they were still in great shape when they arrived. I planted them, and they are doing fine now. They are very small and likely need a few seasons before they will bloom, but I consider that a "pro" rather than a "con" in my case because it made them much easier to plant. I have more mature plants of this variety in my garden, and it is probably my favorite variety of lavender because it is both very fragrant and incredibly hardy. The bees love it, too. I will probably buy more plants from here in the future."

Grosso Lavendar

"I ordered more Lavendar, because I loved what was sent before, and it smells great. I will probably order more. I love American Meadows, because they send plants when time to plant, and give detailed instructions, which helps me be a better gardener, and love my plants. Thanks for all your help! Already have more orders coming when time to plant!"

Very small in size.

"Does not look like it is going to bloom this year."
