'Elijah Blue' Fescue Grass is one of the most popular, no fuss ornamental grasses. Low growing in tight mounds with fine silvery blue-green foliage, plant 'Elijah Blue' in borders, rock gardens, or as groundcover to create year-round visual interest in the garden. In late spring and early summer, blonde seed heads appear on tall stems. Compact forms are great for small gardens and containers, and wont overtake its companions in the garden. (Festuca glauca)

Very healthy, retains blue color ovar all seasons

"We own a good number of different varieties of ornamental grass, and this is definitely one of our top favorites. Elijah Blue looks wonderful. It doesn't get too large, and keeps it's color even throughout the winter. Very hardy, and looks great. Looks the same in all seasons."

Complete failure

"Too long in transit. Barely alive when it arrived. After intensive care, it continued to die"

Just planted, we'll have to see how it does

"I just recieved my plants yesterday and they look to be in great shape. I planted them today and look forward to what next growing season brings."

Died after 2 weeks

"Died after 2 weeks. I purchased 2 plants and they both died within weeks of each other. When I received the plants they were very pretty in color and seemed healthy… so I'm not sure what happened"

HANDY TIP ON CARE

". . . . I have grown this round blue grass for years. . . . . they love a hair cut in spring. . . gather the plant into a pony tail, gathering only blue grass. . . . . leaving the dead or yellow/tan grass, near the dirt. . . rub those dead blades away with gloved hand. . . . Now at the pony tail gathering cut off the top of the entire plant at the gathering. . . . your done. . . leaves your plants shaped into a nice ball and all one length. . . This plant looks great with dusty Miller. . . or red begonias. . . I am growing next years display now. . . . very deer proof. . . . . and so much shape and color to work with. . . ."

Small but mighty

"These are beautiful for the tint of blue they have- I am using them along a hill on the side of our driveway in mass to fill the space with something low so as not to block the driving view. They seem to be very tolerant as the midwest has had little to no rain this season and I do occasional watering. I do wish the plant size was larger as these seem to be slow growing based on what they look like now to what the photos and description have them at full size."

nice filler grass

"this is a nice short grass for filling in areas and also makes a great border. very easy to grow although slow. adds some nice subtle color as well."
