'Red Head' Fountain Grass stands out as one of the earliest-flowering fountain grasses. 'Red Head' dazzles with bottlebrush plumes that emerge burgundy red in mid-to-late summer. Soft, fuzzy plumes shift to a silvery hue in fall and remain in place throughout winter. Flowing, ribbon-like grass blades adds texture and motion throughout the seasons, with leaves taking on yellow highlights in autumn. An excellent cut flower, fresh or dried. not worth much so far

"Out of the dozens of plantings we have put in this year, this is the only thing that has yet to show signs of growth. It was planted in Early April and may need more time, but as of late May, it is the only ornamental grass we have that is lying in a dormant state. Hopefully in time this will change but I'm not very optimistic."

Show stopper

"Take a look after just one season! I bought 5, planted in Fall, and 4 made it through winter to look like this a year later. American meadows is sending a replacement for the 5th. I love the one year guarantee."

Doing great so far

"Sitting along the west side of the house where it only gets afternoon sun, but doing very well so far."

Off to a good start

"Got these in the ground early Oct, and look like they're well established by mid Oct. Got them in a sunny spot, but the soil is pretty compacted, but still look like they're doing well. I'm planning on using them in dry floral arrangements, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do next spring."

I would buy this product again

"I filled in a large landscaping area with these beautiful fountain grasses. In this first season, they all grew large and in full bloom."

Beautiful

"Bought this to go around an outdoor seating area. Received in spring and grew all summer, only lost one."

15 of 17 lived. The ones that are growing are doing well.

"Looks great in a mass planting or accent"

Perfect Results

"I purchased 90 of the Red Fountain Grass plants in the Spring of 2016. All of them are thriving to date, 10/16. I planted them in raised beds bordering a long concrete driveway, full sun, three plants per container. I live in south-central Texas where heat can be brutal and seasonal rainfall scarce. We received record rainfall this summer and I have all of my plants on supplemental drip irrigation as a back-up. I am extremely pleased that the deer have avoided grazing on these grasses thus far."
