‘Karl Rosenfield’ is a garden classic. Widely considered one of the best red double peonies, this mid-season variety boasts huge, cherry-red blooms that are showstoppers in the early summer garden and stunning in bouquets. With sturdy stems and a long vase life, these fragrant flowers are excellent for cutting. Virtually pest-free. (Paeonia lactiflora)

Very happy with my peony plant

"Cannot wait until spring, then hopefully I will have flowers"

Annie (5/5)

Bloomed the first year.

"Rhizomes started growing within a few days after planting, just make sure you planting area is well draining and till the existing soil about a foot deep and mix in potting soil, a little perlite. Only plant your peony no more than 2 " deep, water thoroughly, but don't soak."

special care of this plant

"I purchased this plant and followed the instruction show in the video. It did not survive. I called your company and you send me 6 replacements. I planted with extra care; I soak them overnight. The second time, only 2 survived. My conclusion is that I make several mistakes. First, I did not soak long enough. Secondly, wrong timing. I figured it might be better to plant them in the Fall instead of Summer for zone 10, the temperature is too high and too hot. Although it prefers full sun, perhaps latter. I would like to share my learning to other peony avid growers, especially, in the zone 10. Right now, I still would not give up those one fail to sprout. I soak them in the water, wait until Fall, let them successfully sprout , and, then, only then, I will plant them and with good soil."

Peony Karl Rosenfield

"Another beautiful touch to my landscaping. I ordered 2 but one never came up. The one that did is thriving! Cant wait til it starts to bloom!"

Txcindylu (4/5)

Good grower!

"Had to pot the root first, because the site wasn't prepared yet. It started to sprout almost immediately. . . thick, strong sprout. Transplanted well about a month later, after I could prep the ground. It hasn't bloomed yet but has strong, healthy-looking leaves."

Auburnwatergirl (4/5)

Arrived Alive

"Arrived as expected & planted. They will establish themselves this summer and hopefully bloom late next spring. I gave them 3 stars only because I've yet to see them bloom. Remain tuned. . ."

Beautiful!

"This is the most beautiful flower. It is growing great in my mom's garden and she is very pleased with it."
