Love the lavender-blue flower spikes of Russian Sage, but don’t have the space? 'Little Spire' is the perfect choice for a border or small-space garden, growing to be only 24” tall. A tidy plant that won't flop over, this variety is hardy and extremely easy to grow. PP# 11643 (Perovskia atriplicifolia)

This is basically a bare root

"I'm leaving a review because I was surprised by what I received. I thought I would be getting 4 young plants. It's basically a bare root, a few roots with one stem. They come in the tiny square plastic pots or pods. Packaged well, but only 1 or 2 leaves or branches off the stem. I received mine 3 days later than I should have due to the shipper, but they're going to take a while before they look like anything. If you're looking for something to keep in a pot for a year so you don't accidentally think it's a weed, then this is for you. Otherwise get a young plant."

"Took hold right away and did well through extended dry 100 degree days! Makes an attractive alternative between some tall bushes with the color!"

Russian Sage growing slowly

"This Sage has survived in a very hot growing season. Given the 100 degree days it survives with little water. The growth rate is slow, but if we ever get substantial rain I am hoping for a growth spurt."

Would definitely buy again!

"I was concerned about the very small size of the plants that came in the mail but I was wrong! This was their first spring and already they have grown to a height of almost 2 feet and are very healthy. I would definitely buy these again from American Meadows."

Choose the wrong plant for this place

"I put this in an area with small grasses, but these did not do well."

Time Will Tell

"I purchased three of these, planted in the fall as per the instructions, and not all of them made it through the winter. American Meadows replaced the one that died (thank you) and now all three are doing okay. A bit of a slow grower - only one is flowering. Looking forward to seeing these in their glory but might take a few years."

I already plan to buy more

"Small when they arrived but I am so pleased with how well they've grown and bloomed already this year. Received them maybe May…? And I am already planning a few more for the same area of the yard and might also put them elsewhere. Very happy!"

Plants look very healthy

"I have one like this in the center of a mound with Rhododendrum's and daylilies and people going by on the road say it looks like a water fountain—-Love it!"

I would buy this product again.

"One of the two I planted got weedeated and it came back🙂. The other bloomed in its first year."
