How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"Very well packaged and healthy!"
"I was a little worried when I first saw the tray of plants- shipping was a little rough on them. When I planted them, I noticed how they had a lot of roots, even though the plant itself was in poor shape just from the shipping. As soon as they were transplanted, they took off and grew immediately. All plants survived! The before and after photos tell the story!"
"Very satisfied with my purchase"
"These are very hard to kill. I've only lost one, because I planted it in a spot that got too wet. I like these in pots and window boxes, near coneflower and irises, lavender and evergreens. If you deadhead in July, you will get a second helping in the fall, just when your mums and sedums are lighting up the garden."
"The first ones arrived looking rather sickly, so I took a photo, sent it to the company and asked if that was normal. They promptly replaced them at no charge!"
"Using as an "anchor plant" in corner of a mixed (shrubs/perennials/ annuals) planting square off patio."
"Year 1, my three may night meadow sage did quite fine. But year two was where the real magic was. I did have to move one of the three in spring (being shaded out by an explosive nepeta), so it's a little small and didn't flower this year, but I suspect next year it will experience much the same growth as its two sisters. Produces nice, dark purple flowers that attract all sorts of pollinators. Fairly low maintenance, and appears quite happy in my clay soil on a slope. In the autumn, it does need to be cut back, so as these salvia get larger this may become more of a hassle. Worth the upkeep!"
"A very lovely sage, keep it deadheaded and you'll have a long season of beautiful blooms"
"Another beautiful plant/flower from American Meadows! May Night came well packaged, a nice size & ready to plant! The color of the flowers blew me away! Another all time favorite for me!"
"The plants arrived very healthy. The have rebloomed already this year. They seem to be heat tolerant and have fairly low water requirements. They also seem to be rabbit resistent, which is a big plus where I live."
