How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
About the Sedums: These perennial plants enjoy gritty, fast-draining soil, and must have full hot sun. Theyre really desert plants, so give them sharp drainage. (Sedums are often called Succulents, due to their thickened moisture-retentive leaves, and yes, the short ones include the famous Hen and Chicks from grandmothers garden.)
Once sedums are established, youve assured yourself of loads of perennial interest for the later months when most garden flowers are gone.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"This sedum was in place when I purchased this house. I placed it further out from the house so it would have more sun and it didn't skip a beat. I love sedums because the grow easily are hardy and flourish where ever they grow. This one is usually colored and is a real asset to my garden of plums and dark purples with a violet cast to it pink blooms. Mine has a ways to go to get to full size but I'll mulch it up and wait for it to return even larger next year."
"Three or fours years ago I found this tiny plant growing in my garden; it must have tagged along with something else I purchased. I had no clue what it was, but I knew it was a succulent of some sort. It did not do well in full sun the past two years so I transplanted it to my part-shade garden and it has flourished this year! The leaves are large, thick, and strong, about 1. 5" cross and 3" long. The stems are a beautiful burgundy red and about 8" tall. The flower heads are filled with buds, but have not yet begun to bloom. I'm so glad I decided to keep this previously unknown plant as it is really quite striking. Now that I have been able to identify my plant as Sedum Matrona, I will be purchasing additional plants for my part-shade garden. The hardest part about gardening is patience; sometimes plants don't take no matter what we do, and sometimes we are blessed with surprises like this one. Just enjoy the experience and don't be afraid to keep trying something new, or something old in a new place. You never know. . . . . . . . . . . . . . ."
