The red poppy seeds sprouted

"The red poppy seeds sprouted in a few days, then slowed up due to our weather turning cooler."

Tonya R. (5/5)

I would NOT buy these again!

"I bought TWO POUNDS of seed, way more than needed to cover the area I wanted to plant. I spread them as directed with a mixture of sand and not a single flower grew; very, very disappointing."

Dennis (1/5)

A bust. A total bust .

"Red Corn Poppies had very poor germination - 25% of what was planted actually grew and what did grow produced sickly light red blooms in a tangled mess. Avoid. A total waste of money and time."

Larry (1/5)

No Poppies in my Garden

"Was so excited to see a sea of red! Planted lots of poppies in a 1/2 acre field along with zinnias and cosmos; not one single poppy. Zinnias and cosmos, yes, poppies, no."

Whiskeyjohn (1/5)

Surprising Results

"Scattered poppy seed throughout newly created field - uneven growth but where they did grow they were an absolute delight and so surprising how long they lasted."

Raspberry R. (4/5)

Planted 1/4 bag and about 5 poppies grew

"I purchased the right soil, planted and watered the seeds but only 4 or so flowered bloomed. Rest are 3 inch green stems like plants."

Would buy again

"large area"

They never germinated.

"They never germinated. I threw the seeds mixed with sand in the meadow after I cut the meadow and collected the clippings in November. I live in Pennsylvania zone 7 and this should have worked. Not even a single poppy. The seeds were properly cold stratified, obviously. Maybe that was a bad batch. . but I was so disappointed after a year long wait."

Meoroas (1/5)

Disappointing

"I've had great success with other wildflower mixes from American Meadows, but not a single bloom from the poppies. As I begin my order this year, I must admit I'm tempted to try again as I love poppies, but honestly, I don't want to waste my money on disappointment."

Heather (1/5)

Perfect poppies!

"I sowed the seeds in March when there was still snow on the ground (zone 5a), on sandy/gravelly soil at the top of our retaining wall. Once they germinated, I watered them daily (except when mother nature did it for me). I was rewarded with a gorgeous display that neighbors raved about, and passers-by photographed. Couldn't be happier with these flowers, thank you!"
