This wild Delphinium, also known by the common name Rocket Larkspur, is the annual flower so loved by dried flower arrangers. Spikes of pink, deep blue, and white flowers dry easily, and they also add great color to meadows.

"I love the rocket larkspur! This is the 2nd year I've spread them in my garden. It's always such a nice surprise to see them pop up in a lovely variety of colors. They seem to grow in any type of light I put them in and can handle a low water garden. I have some larkspur that just keep blooming all summer! I think they are a staple seed to spread each year."
"The larkspur bloom early and get very tall, so they are striking in the border at a time when there aren't many blooms yet. I really enjoyed them this year. The seeds performed very well and some even grew in full shade as well as full sun!"
"Have planted American Meadows delphinium seed (or in their mixes) several times. I usually end up with a decent showing in my mixed planting. They are very attractive plants!"
"I've been using these seeds for years in Houston. I put them down in the fall (as instructed) to get the roots going before winter, so that when the heat starts hitting in spring they're ready to grow. We had a real winter this past year, and yet many of the seedlings survived. to be safe, I overseeded areas as soon as it was clear winter was over. I was reward with fabulous blooms when the rest of the neighborhood was still looking dreary. I mixed these with cosmos and throw them all kinds of places in my different beds. I have collected their seeds to put down in the fall, but have not had good success with that so I suggest investing in new seeds every year."
"I find that these do best when seeds are sown in fall. I live in AZ with clay soil and some years we have little water in spring. Once these take they reseed and blow and reseed. I have purchased more for other areas and to give away and harvest my seeds too. In fields make sure you are mowed in late fall so you have a clean area. These bloom all spring and around May I fill empty dog food bags with seed heads to use in other areas in the fall. I close up the bag and shake and all the black seeds will be at the bottom. Sow in fall or before a snow. The snow sets them and they will come up beautifully. Easy to mow down after they are bloomed out. Some years with little spring water they are not as tall and prolific and the base leaves may yellow faster but they are still showy. Everyone asks me for seeds and I always refer them to American Meadows for extras. Each year they will become more prolific too."
"Have planted these seeds at least 5 years in a row in the fall (I live in Houston). These are reliable bloomers. Only one year did I have fairly low yield (not sure what happened there). I do collect the seeds each year for next year's planting, but always supplement with new seeds as well."
"These are one of my favorite wildflowers so I've been thrilled to buy several pounds of the seeds and throw them out into my garden by the handfuls! They sprout reliably right on time, just as expected and they're beautiful blooms are sublime! When they're done flowering it's easy to collect and save the seed for next year or just knock the plants over and allow themselves to reseed which they do perfectly! Anyone who gave these seeds a bad review simply doesn't know exactly what they're doing; it's understandable, gardening is not always the easiest thing to be good at! The point is though that these seeds definitely do not deserve a bad review! As a sidenote - I buy these in bulk as an herbal remedy for lice! It works perfectly!"
"I have just ordered this seed for the third year in a row. It is a reliable, prolific bloomer best scattered across a wide area. I have collected and saved its seeds these past two years, and supplemented with an additional seed purchase here. As the blooms begin to go to seed, the collection of these seeds makes my morning walk in my garden with my coffee an adventure: are there more seeds to harvest? After this year, I may produce enough seeds that I don't have to buy more!"
"Even though I planted these a month late - which is usually the kiss of death in Houston - I had fantastic yield of long lasting, beautiful flowers. My husband is even thrilled. We are already talking Bout what we will plant this coming fall."
"very pretty, very early and they keep coming back from seed."
