How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Dahlias are perennial in zones 8-10, but in cooler zones, tubers can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring. Grow Dahlias in a sunny spot, in average soil that drains well. Keep moisture consistent once it begins to grow and enjoy a non-stop color parade. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers and pinch off small side buds to encourage larger flowers if desired.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"I bought these and planted them at the same time as I planted the Boom Boom White Ball Dahlia, which look fantastic, only one sprouted and is way behind."
"Started blooming in late August and has produced multiple blooms per week since. Beautiful color, too. One of the tubers produced flowers with one petal that's a slightly different color (see pic), which I think is gorgeous, but may be an issue for people growing commercially."
"Looks beautiful in the garden! Love the form of Ball Dahlias, they really draw the eye, and they look great paired with the big dinnerplate Dahlias too."
"Pleasantly surprised how beautiful this color is."
