Lovely dahlia - worth the wait
"This dahlia struggled during the hottest summer months - blooms were small and not as vivid. Has really come through in September and October - maybe plant with some afternoon shade."
Each petal begins in an emerald green center, goes to sunny yellow, and then proceeds into deep red, which is then finished with petal tips in bright purple! 'Tahiti Sunrise' Dahlia is a color wheel that adds even more drama to the garden.
Dahlias are perennial in zones 8-10, but in cooler zones, tubers can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring. Grow Dahlias in a sunny spot, in average soil that drains well. Keep moisture consistent once it begins to grow and enjoy a non-stop color parade. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers and pinch off small side buds to encourage larger flowers if desired.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"We have a separate contained raised bed just for dahlias."
"Bloomed quite nicely, just have to cut some of the excess buds off to make the ones more centered on the stem really shine"
"Another great choice for our garden. Beautiful flower and is simply gorgeous. It's a show stopper and I would recommend it."
"Interesting addition to the garden."
"This is my first year growing dahlias and I will have to say I was very surprised at the outcome! The blooms are absolutely beautiful and the picture does not do them justice! I cannot comment on the storage as this will be the only bulbs that I will dig up for the winter. Thank you American Meadows for making my first time a good time!"
"These are absolutely lovely. Just wish the blooms were a little larger."
"Easy to grow in pots with large beautiful blooms!"
"I recieved 3 bulbs with an order I placed. I did not have much hope they would be any good. I had bought a differant type of dalia the year before and got only a few flowers. These plants started blooming in August and have continued to bloom up to now. (Oct. in MA). I do not think they will stop until a hard frost hits."
