How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
A favorite from your grandmother's garden, Four O'Clocks are world famous, and sometimes called the 'Marvel of Peru'. They are native in Peru, and the 'Marvel' part is because these short, bushy plants open lovely tubular flowers in several colors--the same plant may have two or three colors in bloom at any given time. Growing Four O'Clocks from bulbs ensure a long bloom time, and months of delightful blooms.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"Our nights are cold so it's hard to get mirabilis to flower when planted from seed. I was excited to see these roots on offer but of the 4 roots only 2 grew. One arrived completely mushy and the fourth one didn't rot but never sent up a shoot either. The two that grew were both pink."
"These guys are potent and happy. Our bulbs included yellow and red. They will grow quickly and may need trimming or staked due to being top heavy once flowering."
"Easy to plant and if you dig them up you will find more bulbs to share with family an friends. in the fall."
"Easy to plant"
"I had tried to grow 4 o'clocks from seed many times before & never had luck. I didn't know you could bare root or bulbs to start from. I got a bag of them free as a bonus 2 years ago. They all came up, I moved some to a front garden bed & they have been reseeding now on their own. Easy, very pretty. I only got white & yellow flowers, but there are so many I can share with friends."
"Second year in a row to buy these tubers. The produce large healthy plants consistantly. These were part of an organic approach to japanese beetle control as a trap plant and worked very well. this year i put them in pots to be able to shift to where beetle infestations were worst. But they also produced a ton of pretty blooms from june onward that native insects just loved."
"Roots took off great right after planting as per directions. Had 4 O'Clocks at childhood home, I'm very pleased!"
"They are certainly faster and more vigorous than what you grow from seed. Mine were planted at the same time as I planted from seed and the ones from seed are still several weeks out from blooming whereas those from tubers have already begun. (They are all in the same bed) The only thing I was a bit sad about was that all of mine came out to be yellow and I expected a mix. The scent is lovely though, and I'm pleased."
"These popped fast and were HUGE! I actually had to move them to the back of my flower bed because you couldn't see anything else. They handled the transplanting very well. Had to use plant rings to keep them from falling over. GORGEOUS!"
"I purchase these every year, since unfortunately, they're not perennials in my area. Furthermore, I give them to friends and family for a reliable, attractive, bushy plant. They do reseed themselves, but I find the way I purchase them works best of all."
