How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Gladiolus are easy-to-grow flower bulbs available in a rainbow of hues from soft pastels to rich vivid hues. In early to mid-summer, long elegant flower spikes emerge over the strappy foliage, slowly revealing blooms from the bottom up. This flowering habit makes Gladiolus an excellent cut flower. Plant in late spring in loose, well-drained, sunny soils. Light staking or protection from wind is recommended. Gladiolus are perennial in zones 8-11; in colder zones (3-7), they can be grown as annuals, or brought inside and stored for the winter. (Planting in the right conditions and with a good layer of insulating mulch may extend their hardiness in zones 4-7, but it’s not guaranteed.)
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"This is great selection from bright color and very tall flowers made the borders of my fence beautiful and off course I cut so many of them for the house love the bright purple"
"These bulbs bloomed much taller and fuller than I anticipated. A great purchase that has drawn many admiring comments."
"These bulbs were excellent and every single one grew and bloomed beautifully. Looking forward to next year's show when they return for the spring. :)"
"The first 3 gladiolas i planted were dug up by a squirrel. Then I planted 4 in a somewhat shady spot and 6 in a sunnier space. This past week the sunnier spot bloomed into beautiful purple blossoms. The other side are behind but have tall stalks."
"I echo Devon. I have a blues section and planted about 10 in it and another 5 in the purple section. Of the light purple (actually lavender, apparently blue to vendors) The first 6 are the lavender. The others haven't bloomed Though I'm happy they weren't pink or orange, l have found on sites like this or Brecks the actual nurseries supplying them tend to have "mixes" with colors they can't unload. I've bought mixes and calla lillies from vendors that end up 5 whites, 3 pinks and 1 yellow and one purple. The pic will have 6-7 colors and you think you'll get one of each at least, but no. In their defense, Am. Meadows and Breck are resellers, and don't make up the mixes, so they are given a pass when this happens. And all will resend another set if you desire. My point is dont always expect to get what is shown."
"Lovely flowers."
"Beautiful"
"This was the first year that I was teaching one of my children and my son how to take pride into initially planting and the whole flowery. Once the whole flowering stared he was totally excited and took the proper amount of pride on something that is not instantaneously. In this generation of go go go for me is extremely important for myself that the most beautiful things take time."
"They are beautiful. Just make sure to plant them away from the wind."
"Planted around the mailbox, likely not even true full sun but bloomed beautifully. Definitely needed staking due to being very tall (>4'). Looked exactly like the picture though."
