From a gardener who's grown it: 'I was given some gloriosa tubers two years ago. They die down in Montgomery, AL in the winter and new plants pop up next spring. And pop they do! They seem to pop up a couple of inches the first night and grow quickly after that. I have small trellises and plant stakes to help them stand and they are so unique as the blooms develop. I transplanted one into a pot and brought it in when weather turned cold. I had gloriosa blooms in my dining room window for our Thanksgiving family dinner.'. ....from a subscriber to DavesGarden.com, gardening in Montgomery, AL

"You sent me a shipment of Gloriosa Lilies that were half molded. I requested a new shipment. They were not much better. I planted all of them. Only one has come up. I would never recommend your company!!!! I grew them for years with the same bulb until finally it died. I do know how to plant and grow them!!"
"I planted the tuber immediately after receiving it. It only recently began growing and is only a foot tall. I can't imagine there's enough time for it to produce flowers this season. I plan to dig up and overwinter the tuber, and put it in a pot next year."
"Two of three tubers survived to become robust plants. Wanted to try these for 50 years and was not disappointed save for the dead tuber. I guess two out of three isn't a bad success rate."
"I love this lilly. Very unusual. People always admire. Hummingbirds stop by. Easy to grow."
"Planted the tubors in pots."
"This plant is a vigorous climber and does much better with something to climb on. It likes it hot and dry and doesn't come out til mid-late July (I am in VT). I love this plant and grow it every year. It did take some practice to get the full splendor to show, but now that I know its idiosyncrasies, it is very easy. I have these climb my Pergola on my Patio and they love it"
"I have two Gloriosas in a flower bed that have grown there and flowered for years but did not multiply. That is why I ordered more. I planted this Gloriosa in a large pot and it apparently loved the environbment. Had many blooms!! I was amazed."
"I love this plant. It is in my garden."
"Purchased three bulbs. Two came up and are very unique and beautiful. Visited regularly by humming birds and butterflies. Would have given 5 stars had all three bulbs grown."
"I had blooms on this lily for months. The bloom is unique in shape and changes color as it ages."
