Peacock Orchids delivers graceful, white orchid-like flowers with deep, merlot-colored centers. Each flower stalk produces several blooms, one opening after the other, just like it's close relative, the garden Gladiolus. Extremely easy to grow, these beautiful blooms produce a sweet scent reminiscent of jasmine, which is stronger at night, adding a delicate allure to both moonlit gardens and bouquets.

Quick to grow

"Grew quick."

Beautifully Perks Up the Mid-Summer Garden

"I've bought Peacock Orchids many times from American Meadows and they are always delightful bloomers. They are easy to plant since the bulbs are small and not planted deeply. The Peacock Orchids begin blooming in late July (just as the surprise lilies are finishing) and last through September, brightening the mid-summer garden. I live in Zone 6B and, unfortunately, they are not perennials here except for a few stalwart bulbs that grow in very protected areas of our yard. I over-winter the bulbs in peat moss and plant them again in March."

Graceful and easy to grow. Blooms last for weeks.

"Beautiful, graceful white flowers that bloom for weeks."

Only one bulb came up

"I wish I had a better review for you. I was so excited to find these. I followed planting instructions and read about them online as well. The bulbs felt a bit "hollow" to me but I have never held these before so didn't know what to expect. I now think most were not viable. All were planted in the same 5x5 foot area. I checked on them daily. Our area has been experiencing "progress" so we no longer have squirrels or other wildlife that could have stolen them. Only one grew. It is still blooming. Tall and beautiful. But it was awfully expensive for just the one. I'd give one star but the one that did grow is lovely."

uneven growth

"Very uneven growth. Some bulbs produced strong plants, other bulbs - adjacent to first -- produced small, weak plants. Will be lucky if 6 of them bloom. Planted them in four different locations to see what they liked best, but same results."

Beautiful as always!

"Tall, slender plants with beautiful white blooms!"

Dead after 105° for a whole month in July. 😭

"In normal conditions im sure they would be beautiful"

A winner in my garden

"I love the difference the Peacock Orchids have made in my front garden. They are popular with my neighbors. Although 5 feet high they are dainty and whispy and allow other flowers/plants to grow underneath. Very easy to grow in clay soil and hardy though our weather is down to 40 degrees at night."

These Peacock Orchids are now going to be on our yearly list

"This is our 2nd year growing these and we absolutely love them. (Zone 6b/7a) I cram the whole bag of bulbs into one large, deep clay pot and by the end of July, we are rewarded with lovely blooms that just keep on flowering. We will continue buying these lovely, stately flowers if for no other reason than to impress our friends!"

I would buy again

"I have purchased these bulbs every year from American meadows for 5 years and successfully grew them in pots outside. This year I ordered 25 corms and only 6 of those bloomed, the rest were duds. Very disappointing as I love them and their fragrance. I'll try again next year, maybe you could send redeemable coupon. Thank you. Terry"
