How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Here's a plant that will turn heads and start gardening conversations with its' beautiful foliage and fascinating, unique blooms. The flowers pile up into a 'pineapple' topped with a leafy green 'hat.' Pineapple Lilies are hardy in zones 7 - 11 and are considered annuals in cooler zones, or they can be lifted and stored in a cool, dry, dark place to re-plant for the following year.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"I have a small patio and outdoor gardening space for container plants. Been posting the pineapple lilly progress on Facebook. People are fascinated."
"These are not nearly as attractive as they make them look in the pictures. The blooms fall completely over so you would have to stake them to get them to stand up."
"Love this unique plant which reminds me of something from Dr. Seuss - so whimsical! It's a long blooming show stopper and has a light fragrance too. I've always grown these in containers as I'm higher elevation cold zone 4, and it's a delight every time they bloom. I overwintered these in a container in my garage (somewhat unintentionally, as I just didn't get around to lifting and storing them last fall) and they came back to bloom nicely this year too. Love how the blooms start opening up from the bottom and continue all the way up (similar to glads) and last for weeks on end. This has been in bloom for several weeks now and shows no signs of stopping. A great addition, highly recommend adding these to your list! I know I'll be planting more come spring time!"
"Sadly these never developed. They grew just the greenery. I waited all summer hopping they would suprise me. I included a photo, there is a filler green in the middle which makes these look fuller then they really are."
"They've been in for about 5 months. I only have enormous base leaves, no stem or flowers. The base leaves are about 4 inches wide on average and are as long as 3 feet. . . so absolutely large enough to fail structurally and rip if the wind hits it the wrong way. They leaves are also turning purple. Hope to see a flower this year. Overall I'm happy with it but wouldn't necessarily recommend at the time being."
"I bought one of these ~10 years ago at a big box store, it took if a few years to successfully bloom. I got it three companions this year and they are all blooming beautifully, each is subtly different!"
"In my zone of Southern Utah we are very dry & extremely hot. I found they did better in a shady location with water daily. That being said they are so cute when in bloom!!!"
"These really grow well in full sun and put on quite a show! Very different looking from the ho-hum lilies."
