"We planted a swath of weeping lovegrass across an old fescue hayfield here in central Missouri -- heavy clay soils. We killed the fescue in early spring, roto-tilled the sod, and planted the seed in June. Despite a dry summer, the stand is thick and healthy. The grass out-competed most of the tough weeds and fought the yellow nutsedge to a draw. We will plant a second swath next year."
"We are reconstructing an old fescue field to support pollinators and other wildlife. We chose weeping lovegrass for a long swath of low grass that traverses the meadow. The American Meadows seed germinated and established quickly in our mid-Missouri clay. By July, we had a full stand that was competing very well against weeds . We mowed (high blade setting) twice during establishment to suppress weeds and promote vegetative growth."
"We planted a 200 x 20 foot swath through an old fescue field in heavy clay as part of a project to establish a meadow of warm season grasses and wildflowers. We needed a great deal of supplementary water for the buffalo grass, blue grama, and the perennial wildflower mixes, but the weeping lovegrass established even in the dry early summer. It competed very well against all the weeds except yellow nutsedge and came in lush and thick. For a first-year grass, it is stupendous."
"We first saw this grass in WV where it is used by DOT to stabilise mountain roadsides. So when we moved to NC we decided to try it along our rock bulkhead on the Albemarle Sound. It is beautiful, hardy and does the job. Our neighbors were so impressed with the look that they wanted it too, so as a gift, we did two more soundside applications. Gorgeous!"
"Desperately needed erosion control on two hillsides behind the house, soil is red clay. This stuff grows wild here in clumps on steep roadside banks (again in red clay), so decided to give it a go. We grew it in seed trays and then planted it out as plugs (no point sowing seeds on steep hills). It is green in summer, and looks like a wheat-colored pony's tail in winter, with zero maintenance. It's very attractive, and research shows it controls erosion better than most anything you can plant."
"I planted my love grass 2 years ago and it grew great. the photo for the ad is my front lawn love grass I had it cut back this summer for the first time and am now filling in some bald spots so it grew exactly as shown This is the best ground cover I have ever used and it has solved all my problems of pine trees growing in the yard and takes no maintenance So no cutting,no watering,grows about 2 to 3 feet high I just had to water it everyday as it grew in mid summer"
"FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. . . I didn't originally and paid the price by starting over. I live in Emerald Isle NC on the beach and needed a ground cover that would simply take over a portion of my yard and this product did it. Plant when directions tell you, don't over seed, water to establish the grass and then it goes nuts! Love it!"
