This famous herb is terrific as a wildflower groundcover, or as a clump in a blooming meadow, since not only foliage, but flowers are lovely and lasting. However, it can become invasive. If seeded widely, it can fill a meadow area and exclude everything else within two or three years. Yarrow has a great medieval herbal history, and has been used in medicine and magic for centuries. It is also a favorite for dried flower arrangements.

"Yarrow fights the weeds and attracts the pollinators"
"I purposely searched for yarrow because it is a native flower known to choke out weeds. I'm hoping it will choke the last breath out of the Japanese honeysuckle and stiltgrass that has invaded my property!"
"We use this as a ground cover (lawn substitute) becasue it grows well under our eucalyptus and pine trees. It has low water requirements and can be mowed periodically. It also takes foot traffic well."
"I am planting the seeds on my hillside."
