How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
The amazing Winky series has brought us a whole new look for Columbines, always a classic garden favorite. Lavish, bicolored petals stand up and create an almost rose-like center, while the solid color guard petals below remain flattened.
Winky Double Red-White is a stunning crimson & cream bloomer, producing masses of flowers on strong stems in the late Spring and early summer. Flowers are excellent for bouquets and have a vase life of up to 2 weeks!
If happy, Winky Double Red-White will self seed, forming a large colony over the years and increasing your bounty of blooms!
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"My Winky Double Red-White Columbine came in such great health! I was so excited to plant it, and it came in the mail very fast! Earlier than expected! I will definitely be buying more of this exact columbine, if not a few others to add to my garden!"
"We just purchased our new home last October, prior it did not have any landscaping. I did start some of my own flowers however I thought this time I would look online to see if I could find some perennials that I couldn't find locally. That is when I found American Meadows online! The ordering process was easy, the plants came with great instructions and were still hydrated and alive. I was so surprised and happy that I've actually looked at ordering more already! We have received so many compliments on the flowers I've planted from American Meadows and I've been referring them ever since! Thank you for providing quality plants!!"
"Had to share an update on year 2 of these Columbine. We went from being decimated by leaf miners, to making a comeback (with some help from diatomaceous earth), and now in year 2, I have 4 very full, very healthy plants filled with beautiful blooms! These plants are so adorable!"
"I planted mine under a tree on the west side of my house. They multiply every year and I love them. I like that they have stayed short and the blooms are so cute around a small water pond I have."
"I have planted these a number of times in the different locations where I have lived. I have always loved how cute the little blossoms are on it. I rebought these and planted them in my new home this past spring and it is the healthiest I have ever had them! They did bloom the first year, and now as we go into the fall I am surprised by how much foliage they have. However, they did take a little bit of work. As these are hybrid Columbine they are susceptible to leaf miners and so when the plants were smaller, right after planting, a couple of them were eaten to the ground. I was pleasantly surprised to see how resilient the roots were though, and they started sending up new growth right away. I bought diatomaceous earth to sprinkle on the plants to help fight off the leaf miners and allow them to grow into the large plants they are at the end of the season."
"Dormant bare root plants are usually too immature to bloominthe season they are planted. So disappointing and I am so sick it. this plant is alive and growing but never bloomed. Spend a little more and buy plants growing in dirt."
