Plant Information

Snowcap gives you a shorter shasta daisy plant, with all the vigor and bloom of the taller types.

The Shasta Daisies are great plants, hybridized from a European wildflower. They're not invasive like our common daisy, and usually have larger flowers. Whats more, the flowers are classic white, and look great both in more formal perennial displays and in informal wildflower gardens.

In recent years, the hybridizers have worked on this species, creating various flower forms from doubles to all sorts of variations on the original.

Comments about American Meadows Shasta Daisy Snowcap:

Bought a dozen for early Spring delivery. Plants arrived in great shape and were planted in immediately, in fresh soil and sunny position. Every plant bloomed almost immediately, then did nothing more all Summer -- nothing. Plants look great and have grown substantially but no flowers, whatsoever. Maybe next season.

Comments about American Meadows Shasta Daisy Snowcap:

I was looking for a Shasta daisy that would remain small. I planted 3 in front of blue echinops which are taller, and they look great. The stems are sturdy and they haven't collapsed during the many hard rains we've had this summer.

Comments about American Meadows Shasta Daisy Snowcap:

I needed a Shasta daisy that didn't grow to 3 feet or more. I found the perfect plant at American Meadows (Shasta Daisy Snowcap--18"). They shipped it promptly, potted and packaged to arrive in green and excellent condition, as well as remain healthy in its container until I was ready to plant it. The plants are performing nicely, blooming and spreading. I was very pleased with my order.

              Q & A

              Plant With These:

              USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

              • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
              • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
