How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
Dahlias are perennial in zones 8-10, but in cooler zones, tubers can be dug after frost comes, stored over winter, then re-planted the following spring. Grow Dahlias in a sunny spot, in average soil that drains well. Keep moisture consistent once it begins to grow and enjoy a non-stop color parade. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers and pinch off small side buds to encourage larger flowers if desired.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"Only 2 of the 3 are barely surviving. My Dahlias that I plant in the spring and pull in the fall are growing great. I thought that none of them were going to survive."
"Although not as dark as the color in the picture, I am enjoying the nuance of the different subtle colors as the flowers unfold. I now understand the obsession with Dahlias. Large flowers and prolific on the plant. Growing well in a container with staking."
"The Dahlia that I received is not this but it is very large and very beautiful. It is also healthy and disease/bug resistant. I would have liked to get the manhattan because I planned on a color scheme but I am not unhappy with the surprise."
"Very nice plants. Easy to grow. Loves fertilizer"
"Health with great height (3. 5') but the color red is more like maroon color. It's big and the stems are strong enough to support."
