Cardinal Flower, a hummingbird favorite, puts on a show in late summer with tall, vivid red flower spikes that add bold color to the late-season garden. Native to North America, it thrives in partially-shaded areas with moist soil and will naturalize if conditions are favorable. Tolerates deer. (Lobelia cardinalis)

Overrated prior to shipping

"I ordered 3 plants from this company and I won't be seeing any of them bloom. They were so over watered they were dead of root rot. The dirt was soaked. Plants were dripping in box. They barely had any growth on them either"

Maybe takes time

"Plant is slow in growing. Part of it has died and had to be cut off. Maybe takes time."

Growing Very Well

"This plant is growing very well. I'm looking forward to seeing some flowers and attracting hummingbirds."

Rojayva (5/5)

Eaten by a deer

"My lovely little plant was packaged well and I followed the instructions on planting. It was all going well for about a month and then a deer ate it and it was no more."

Liz (5/5)

Interesting species

"2 plants are very short; one us about 2' tall. Tall one is close to blooming. 2 shirt ( 10") are still just green. I bought them to attract humming birds, but they have not flowered as of yet."

My Cardinal Flowers are Stunning

"I put these in my hummingbird and butterfly garden. They did a great job among the wildflowers of attracting just what I wanted."

Lillygirl55 (5/5)

I would buy this plant again if I had more room!

"I have a spot that is shady and often damp and decided on lobelias for their tolerance of wet feet and ability to attract butterflies. First year, but growing well."

Gypsy (5/5)

I'm done with Cardinal flower

"I e tried 3 times to grow this native. This time I even put bird netting over them and rocks around them a the next day something had eaten the plant and dug into the roots. This is not the company's problem, but I'll never try it again!"
