Description
18-24" tall x 9-18" wide. Dwarf Blazing Star, also called Small Headed Gayfeather, is a stunning wildflower native to the Appalachian mountains of the southeast. Up close, the berry-purple blooms appear rather delicate set against their soft grass-green foliage - but make no mistake, this is one tough plant! Tolerant of clay, sand, loam and nutrient-poor soils, this showy flowers will make it through extreme weather swings such as drought and spells of intense humidity, earning its reputation as truly 'adaptable' to many climate challenges. Best of all, this Liatris is a magnet for loads of butterfly activity in the landscape, and also attracts hummingbirds.
