Description

(48-72" tall x 24-36""wide) Also known as Japanese and Lavender Mist Meadow Rue, this perennial graces your garden with tall clouds of lavender-pink blooms accented by bright yellow stamens. Use it to draw attention to a meadow or flower border where the tall, airy flowers rise above their neighbors, or take advantage of meadow rue’s dramatic upright form that makes it a natural for large planters and architectural-style containers. Meadow Rue looks particularly good when planted in groups. This durable perennial is deer and rabbit resistant for easy gardening. Choose a site with rich soil in full sun to part shade — the plant appreciates afternoon shade in hot summer sun. The sturdy, 4-6’ stems rarely need staking and the lofty blooms bring some air and lightness to summer bouquets. Contact with the foliage can cause skin and eye irritation. Note: This meadow rue is a different species than the herb rue (Ruta graveolens), which is toxic if ingested in large doses.
