Everybody knows "Bee Balm," the famous red wildflower with the "crown-shaped" flowers. Well, this is the shorter pink cousin, famous among native Americans for making tea and other medicinal preparations.
Like all wild mints, Wild Bergamot has square stems and fragrant leaves.

"I sowed them indoor way too early like in February, out of curiosity. But they did make it outdoor. The seedlings multiplied as soon as it took hold on the native / clay soil. Definitely will try to sow more seeds outdoor next time. PNW zone 8B"
"figured i would try these and i have ordered a lot of seeds from this place and this one didnt sprout / germinate. when you buy the package, you dont get a lot of seeds, so its not like you can try a few and if they dont grow , try again. maybe others had or will have better luck than i did. . . . . . going to not recommend these as i didnt have luck with them."
"I cold stratified these by sowing the seeds in a milk jug filled with planting medium and then placed the jug outside around February 2015. The seeds are very small and many of them germinated. I potted up the 5 strongest seedlings (some sprouted and fizzled out but that's life!) and they are doing great- about 8 inches tall now. I think they're ready to go into my butterfly garden as a complement to the scarlet-colored bee balm I already have."
"I planted the seeds when they arrived in the spring and these babies grew fast. They were great for cut flowers. I planted these in full sun and near the border of my driveway. Very hardy with little water."
"Sowed seeds in the fall. Seeds germinated this Spring and are already six inches tall. Very happy with the quality of the seeds."
"These seeds germinated just fine, and the seedlings are currently happily transplanted outside."
